This position is an Area Technician assigned to the Rural Development Area Office located in Norfolk, NE.

! Some travel is required. DUTIES:
Serve as liaison ! concerning obligation of loans, budget controls, potential errors in obligation documents, accompanying forms and other related problems.
Utilize computer software programs provided for automated functions in conjunction with various loan programs.
Provide a wide variety of technical assistance to loan specialist on issues ranging in complexity.
Assist with various outreach activities to promote all programs administered by USDA Rural Development.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
For GS-05: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04; or its non-Federal equivalent OR bachelor's graduate degree or 4 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a combination of education as described and specialized experience
For GS-06: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05; or its non-Federal equi! valent. There is no substitution of education at the the GS-06 level.
For GS-07: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06; or its non-Federal equivalent. There is no substitution of education at the GS-07 level.

Specialized experience is any experience that equipped the applicant with the particular competencies to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-05 level: Processing experience such as receiving, screening, reviewing and verif! ying loan and/or grant documents, maintaining records, searching and co! mpiling information, providing information orally and/or in written correspondence; applying guidelines.
Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-06 level: Providing technical information on loan programs available; working with legal instruments and documents related to lending, such as mortgage deeds, titles, liens, promissory notes and contractual obligations; processing loan payments, debt collection or other similar work.
Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-07 level: Answering technical inquiries related to lending from various entities such as lenders, investors, businesses, attorneys, accountants, real estate agents, etc, including advising customers on lending services available from other federal, state, or local programs.
