JOB SUMMARYProvides administrative and paralegal support to department, division, and organization, as directed. Specific duties include assisting with drafting legal and corporate documents, resear! ching and analyzing relevant laws and industry regulations, preparing corporate filings, monitoring legislation, preparing minutes and resolutions for board meetings, budget preparation and variance tracking, auditing employee P-cards for area of assignment, travel coordination for assigned employees, scheduling meetings, reconciling invoices, and maintaining files and records. Provides customer service to internal staff and external customers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Assists with research and analysis of legal sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes. •Assists in preparation of legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, and contracts for review, approval, and use by General Counsel and Staff Attorney.

  • Assists in the drafting of legislation, monitoring legislation, and maintaining legislative files and reports as directed.•Assists wi! th investigation of facts and case law along with General Coun! sel and Staff Attorney to determine causes of action and to prepare cases accordingly. •Monitors Federal Register for federal regulatory rulemakings that affect the organization and notifies appropriate staff.•Assists with keeping the organization informed of existing and/or proposed rules, regulations, and programs pertaining to state and federal agencies, commissions, etc.•Files and indexes correspondence and original legal documents in office filing system. •Performs various routine clerical duties such as using standard office equipment, screening incoming calls, performing data entry, faxing documents, filing, typing, etc.•Utilizes various advanced computer software applications, such as SharePoint, SAP, Office suite, customized solutions, etc.•Utilizes legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.•Drafts corporate documents, correspondence, communications, etc., into a final form ensuring proper grammar, punctuation, etc.•Schedules appointments, ! meetings, and workshops along with ensuring proper accommodations are secured including place, catering, IT requirements, etc.•Coordinates all business related, including overnight, travel for department and/or division employees.•Serves as Assistant Secretary for the LES Administrative Board, which involves preparing meeting resolutions and minutes along with other material.•Serves as liaison for the division to internal customers, external customers, vendors, consultants, etc.•Processes vouchers, purchase requisitions, invoice reconciliations, and forms in accordance with company procedures.•Monitors and tracks departmental budget variances and compiles responses when appropriate.•Audits all department/division LES purchasing card statements including appropriate receipts, sales tax, etc.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES •Complex problem solving including researching solutions•Analytical skills including case law relevance•Strong attention to detail•Interpers! onal and communication skills•Strong written communication skills•B! asic mathematical skills•Professionalism and customer service orientation•Proficient use of a computer and standard software applications, Microsoft Office Suite 2010 preferred•Proficient use of modern office equipment•Strong organizational and time management skills•Project management skills•Proficient filing and recordkeeping skills•Advanced decision making
