Applied Underwriters is currently searching for a pharmacy tech interested in applying their expertise in an insurance office setting. The position is called the Client Service Rep. It consists of a 40 hour work week, with no nights, weekends or Holidays. In addition, we provide excellent pay, benefits and a steady work week with regular hours! The Client Service Rep position works closely with our medical division to keep work flows organized, timely and reslove a multitude of issues. A large part of this position deals extensively with pharmaceutical terminology and codes. Professionally, this person will gain a broad understanding and working knowledge of a Berkshire Hathaway insurance claims division covering a large swath of healthcare related matters. As a pharmacy tech, you will build on your healthcare related knowledge and become an expert in the insurance industry.DescriptionDisplay knowledge on a wide variety of topics and exemplify high standards of customer service to external and internal contacts. Direct all incoming claims issues to the appropriate division or handle the situation within the Client Service Team. Incoming issues may arise out of phone calls, mail, faxes or email. These topics may include new workers compensation claims, billing matters, management of medical care and a wide variety of miscellaneous issues. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Work duties will be split between Client Services and a specific team in the medical division, in this instance the Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM). PBM duties to include: Process incoming calls from clients, injured workers, medical providers, attorneys and others seeking information or assistance relating to insurance claims. Communicate and provide information by appropriate methods to enable effective service to connecting teams and/or departments Log information on calls received while ensuring detailed and accurate records. Serve as frontline information resource for inquiries relating to medical network services, prescriptions and utilization review. Provide current medical provider locations for injured workers. Intake new claim reports from clients, medical providers and others and enter claims into the Claims Management software system. Research incoming departmental documents to determine relevance to new claim intake or the management of medical care. Confirm coverage on reported claims. Index new claims with the Insurance Services Office.. Verify claim/bill status. Determine lien status. Perform special projects as assigned to deliver reliable quality medical services through effective teamwork. Excellent customer service skills. Positive, cheerful, team-oriented attitude. Previous customer service experience in a positive, quality-oriented business environment. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness in a fast-paced setting. Familiarity with standard computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, and ability to rapidly learn to use our proprietary claims and payroll software systems. Ability to retrieve claim files from four-drawer filing cabinets. Ability to carry and sort stacks of documents. Maintain 9:30-6:30 work shift Answer PBM line Troubleshooting rejected prescriptions (5-6:30 primarily) Send correspondence regarding PBM process for insurance claims Assist in processing paper pharmaceutical bills Direct workers compensation claimants to contracted facility Data entry And any special projects for the PBM as assigned.
