Examples of Work:
This position supports the Agency Legal Counsel in a wide variety of legal issues. Primary duties include drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents such as correspondence, memos, analysis and summaries; conducting legal research; preparing written reports; tracking and organizing files and information; and maintaining legal documents and files. This position will interact frequently with the Agency Legal Counsel, Agency Director and top management, representatives of the Attorney General's office and other attorneys.

Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association approved paralegal institute. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED: Preference will be given to candidates with experience with legal contracts and who possess a Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be competent working with MS Office including Outlook and possess the ability to organize and adjust workloads to meet deadlines; maintain accurate records and analyze/prepare reports; work independently; exercise sound judgment based on legal conclusions from fact/findings; effectively communicate with Agency Legal Counsel, other legal professionals, varying levels of management, and the public; and to interpret and apply State Statutes.
