Staff Assistant I

Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Examples of Work:
Examine and process forms, documents and reports to assist in collecting information to issue training certificates. Maintain electronic and paper filing systems. Explain policies, criteria, procedures and processes pertinent to the functions of Nebraska Liquor Control Commission (NLCC). Respond to inquiries from within and outside NLCC via telephone, e-mail, or in person. Conduct time-keeping duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality in all duties.

Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Coursework / training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; research; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency OR experience in performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Abil! ity to: communicate in person and by telephone, computer, ! email, or correspondence to exchange information and ideas; summarize technical data and results of research and monitoring activities into reports; work independently with limited supervision; gather, compile, analyze, generate, and disseminate information; interact and maintain a close working relationship with diverse individuals and groups to include: license holders, attorneys, agency administrative personnel, state agencies and the public is essential. Learn the organizational structure, mission, and activities of the Liquor Control Commission; learn agency policies and procedures pertinent to the work assigned.
