Essential Functions/Competencies

2. Provides referrals for financial and supportive needs.

Gathers information from patients/families.

Shares appropriate resource materials and information with patients/families.

Researches resources specific to patient’s medical condition.

Obtains necessary releas! e of information authorization.

3. Provides crisis/supportive counseling to patients/families.

Assists families with problem-solving and utilizing their positive coping strategies.

4. Provides assessment and coordination of child abuse/neglect cases.

Assesses psychosocial dynamics.

Communicates with medical and nursing personnel regarding assessment and plan.

Facilitates referral and provides ongoing communication with CPS, law enforcement, and county attorney’s office.

Documents pertinent information and completes all reports in a timely fashion.

Prepares and presents cases at Children’s Advoca! cy Team. Attends on an as needed basis.

5. Provides on-call services for Social Work Department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work required.

Minimum one year experience of supervised experience as a Social Worker in a clinical setting preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
Current Certified Social Worker or Provisional Masters Social Worker in the state of Nebraska required.
