The Credit Analyst will be responsible for the analysis of counterparty credit risk with a focus on the company’s domestic agriculture operations.
Perform credit due diligence analysis and approvals, monitor exposures, and negotiate collateral as needed.
Support build-out of new offices and business activity in various commodity related sectors.
The Credit Analyst position will be located in Omaha, NE and report to the Credit Manager.
Position Responsibilities
Perform daily credit risk analysis and monitor exposures.
Help ensure compliance under approved procedures and limits.
Assist in carrying out the credit policies, which will include updating financial data bases, performing credit analysis, following/enforcing the credit policy, engaging in the collection of delinquent accounts, and various work flow issues.
Responsible for the entire credit review process for each account assigned.
Obtain customer financial data, historical credit exposures, and any other information needed for credit recommendation and monitoring.
Work with Ac! counting and Sales to determine and/or resolve issues with ope! n invoices.
Monitor counterparty activity to minimize potential bad debt losses.
Create/maintain positive relationships with counterparties.
Manage accounts, while keeping management informed, through the bankruptcy or legal process.
Assist with other projects as needed.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
MBA preferreed but not required.
5 plus years of commercial credit management experience within an agriculture or commodity based environment.
Expertise in financial statement analysis and risk assessment.
Knowledge of credit, collection, bankruptcy laws, UCC-1 rules, collection agencies and attorneys.
Strong analytical skills, organizational skills and be detail oriented.
Ability to effectively work as part of a fast-paced and highly motivated team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written ! and verbal.
Sense of urgency and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
