District Attorney The candidate will deal with the daily legal issues arising from company's diverse internat! ional infrastructure construction businesses. Will provide legal counsel and advice to operating units within companies as well as to individual project teams. Use sound business judgment to timely identify and raise critical issues to senior management and assist in formulating effective strategies for mitigation or resolution. Negotiate contract terms with project owners, subcontractors and suppliers.
Perform detailed review and drafting of a variety of construction-related contracts including, partnering agreements, major equipment purchase orders, design-build contracts and EPC contracts. Work closely with other departments within our companies and communicating items of concern. Support project teams in understanding and implementing contract requirements. Assist with resolution of claims and litigation.
Advise senior management of the nature and status of claims and litigated matters including risk assessment, budgeting, scheduling and recommended co! urse of action. Negotiate the resolution of issues, draft sett! lement agreements. Deal with insurers and managing outside counsel with respect to construction and general commercial claims and litigation matters. Provide training in legal concepts and concerns to company personnel.
A J.D. degree and admission, in good standing, to a state or provincial Bar association required. Must have 7+ years of legal experience ideally with an emphasis on construction matters or complex commercial transactions.
