Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Description: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska is employing Workers' Compensation Specialist right now, this occupation will be assigned in Nebraska. A Workers' Compensation Specialist is responsible for recovering monies for services paid as a result of a Workers' Compensation injury or illness. Additional respons! ibilities include to maintain, update and investigate Workers' Compensation cases, while providing service to groups, members, attorneys, Workers’ Compensation carriers and providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with other departments in resolving problems or performing activities.

Investigate, identify and resolve internal and external telephone and written inquires from attorneys, group leaders, brokers, providers, Workers’ Compensation carriers and members daily.

Maintain an average case load of 1,000 or more cases.

Identification and initiation of possible Workers’ Compensation cases.

Manage next pull and aging open file reports daily.

Provide itemizations within timeframe to ensure recovery of funds.

Recovery of claims payment due to Workers’ Compensation.

Timely and accurate investigation and pursuit of monies paid by Host Plan.

Must meet or exceed t! he attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments! .

Must work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Courses in debate and public speaking.

Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once.

Ability to interpret and apply contract language.

Ability to meet deadlines and time constraints

Education and Training:
High School Diploma or Equivalent is required

Experience Required:
Minimum of three years' insurance experience.

Minimum of three years' experience in customer service field emphasizing in both oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law preferred
