Location: Omaha, Nebraska

The Settlement Coordinator will review and audit multiple disability claims for any and all settlement considerations. They will present, explain, and negotiate all offers following an extensive liability and financial investigation. Job Requirements Present facts in clear, concise and logical manner Compromise, negotiate and finalize claims Ability to analyze and trend results Strong Risk Management skills/experience Identify and participate in training and quality opportunities Responsible for interpretation of contract provisions and vocational and medical records Conducts effective high-level negotiations Works closely and partners with several internal and external customers: Benefit Specialists, Medical and Vocational professionals, management figures, Legal dept, claimants, group administrators, and attorney. Actively leads and/or participates in identifying trends and in the development of new and improved settlement strategies Meets or exceed established production goals Leads and/or works on complex projects as directed Strong verbal/telephone communication skills High Ethical Integrity Additional Details College degree or equivalent work experience is required. Three plus years disability and life insurance work experience is required. Proven ability to read and correctly interpret insurance contracts is mandatory. Understands Legal business considerations as they relate to insurance and/or settlements. Strong knowledge of IBM software programs, including, but not limited to: word processing software, spreadsheet software and e-mail. Completion of Group HIAA, LOMA, ICA and other industry courses is desirable Strong math skills are required Ability to use logic, accuracy and strict attention to detail are mandatory Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills Regular and predictable attendance is required
