Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

Review Insurance Company rate and form filings for assigned lines of insurance to determine compliance with insurance laws, regulations and bulletins. Answer questions from industry and public on lines assigned. Performs duties necessary to the individual handling the credentialing certification for the Medical Malpractice Excess Liability/Residual Fund. This will include answering inquiries, verbally and in writing, providing qualification verification regarding health care providers under the Excess Liability/Residual Fund, processing surcharge, renewal, suspension, termination letters and the filing of Medical Malpractice correspondence. Act as the contact person for property casualty and working with the life/health contact person in the scheduling of the public access computers. Verification of filing fees. Provide administrative support to members of the Property and Casualty Division. Meet with members of industry/ and the public to discuss insurance issues.

Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related field and one year of experience in the insurance industry or related field. Experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED: Any combination of training and/or work experience that will enable the incumbent to possess the required knowledge, skills and abilities; CPCU designation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: general insurance principles for property/casualty insurance. Basic understanding of both rates and forms for property/casualty insurance and experience in Word and Excel. Ability to: read and understand insurance policy forms and State Statutes; judge whether a rate filing is adequately justified for filings in which experience data is available; judge the propriety of the provisions of an insurance policy; analyze lines of insurance to understand factors which influence rates and policy provisions of assigned lines of insurance; develop effective working relationships with agency personnel and insurance company officials and general public.
