Examples of Work:
Under general direction, manages the records functions for the Special Service Division! and Adult Parole Administration. Supervise assigned staff. Calculate release dates by complying with the court orders, Board of Parole sanctions and appropriate good time laws. Review court commitments to ensure inmates are lawfully committed and released. Resolve complex records related issues with technical assistance provided by a Records Manager II. Perform related work as required. Review teletype 2nd party verifications and monthly validations. Print and distribute discharge certificates for Parolees. Create record in PIMS and CTS for interstate parolees. Send updated time sheets to Parole Officers. Coordinate Parole pending releases with the institutions Records offices. Process work release and re-entry furlough applications. Assist with daily filing and distribution. Present information regarding inmate records to public officials and the general public; respond to concerns of the crime victims regarding an inmate's release. May be temporarily assigned to assist R! ecords Managers at various NDCS facilities.

Qualif! ications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in related field and/or experience in administrative/managerial responsibilities and Records Management including supervisory responsibilities. Related experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED: Experience in parole administration, records management and/or unit/office management. Experience in Microsoft Office applications, CTS, PIMS and NCJIS. Teletype experience and/or current teletype certification.

OTHER: Possess or obtain certification as a teletype operator within one year of employment. Valid driver's license required. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Corrections Training Program.

Knowledge, Skills an! d Abilities:
Knowledge of all good time laws and relative State Statutes; Attorney General opinions relevant to the maintenance of inmate records; applicable State and Federal Court decisions; Department policies and procedures relative to inmate records; sentencing, inmate release on parole, bond, discharge, etc. Ability to: interpret legal Court orders, State Statutes, Attorney General Opinions, Department Policies and Procedures/Administrative Regulations and/or Operational Memorandums; manage personnel/staff.
