The purpose of this job is to assure compliance with company policies and procedures, provide support to internal/external customers. Oversees tax provision of companies, assist with financial reporting, assist with tax planning of entities by interpreting tax regulations. Applies valid accounting principles to achieve financial reporting and accountability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepare the tax provision on a quarterly basis for Corporate and required individual LLCs. Monitor and manage the companys adequacy of accounting provision and deferred income taxes whil! e complying with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley.
Work ! with the CFO and Treasurer to develop optimal and tax efficient corporate and capital structures.
Assist the CEO, CFO, Controller and Treasurer with establishing and implementing strategic tax policies and objectives for the companies while minimizing corporate tax liability and improving earnings. Proactively pursue transactional tax planning to minimize corporate tax liability and improve earning while optimizing the financial statement, regulatory and rating agency effects.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, SEC and GAAP requirements by studying regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; communicating with attorneys, tax specialists and our transfer agent to ensure timely tax, SEC reporting and compliance requirements.
Work with the CFIB on optimizing the tax structure of mergers, acquisition, divestitures, spin-offs and reorganization for tax minimization, while achieving administrative efficiency and ! flexibility of operations.
Prepare the estimated taxable income to prepare quarterly estimates.
Gather information needed to prepare annual income tax filings and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the filings.
Review and document any FIN 48 positions and significant tax accounting policies with a tax impact.
Oversee the Tax Departments Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with tax regulations and minimize costs.
Obtain IRS rulings and proactively advocating the favorable resolution of tax audits and appeals, tax litigation and tax legislative and regulatory issues that enhance the companys ability to meet overall goals.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects. !
Mgr,/Sr Mgr, Tax Requirements:
Education Require! d:
4-year Accounting (or related) degree required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Experience Required:
Formal education in accounting-related field and 8+ years tax experience and 5+ years accounting tax provision preparation experience.
Experience related to the compliance with Sarbanes Oxley related projects desired.
Skills Required:
Ability to use office equipment as described in job description, comprehensive math, algebraic and logic skills, good organizational skills, good oral and written skills, leadership skills ability to learn REG products/services, and ability to use spreadsheet and word processing software.
