Led by over 8,000 employees, Lincoln Financial provides the tools and advice to help individuals take charge of their futures The RoleAs the Life Waiver Benefit Specialist, you will be responsible for the fair, ethical and timely management of Life Waiver (Extension of Death benefit) claims associated with Group Life Insurance plans and contracts. You will also be responsible for managing life waiver claims (disability decision) in an ethical manner, ensuring quality decisions, benefit calculations, and delivering a very high level of customer service.Responsibilities Claim ProcessingInvestigates, evaluates, interprets and approval/denial of Life Waiver (Extension of Death benefit) claims with sound and impartial judgment. Operates independently using appropriate duratio! n guidelines when necessary. Maintain a caseload of Life Waive! r claims (National and Non-National Accounts) Maintain turnaround time standards on all claims and follow ups Completes training program and pass Proficiency ExamCommunicationCommunicates with Short and Long Term Disability Benefit Specialist and Account Managers, as well as with claimants, policyholders, attorneys, physicians and brokers directly. Explains complex claim situations.Problem SolvingInterprets contract provisions, vocational and medical information independently Problem solves and use critical thinking skills independently. Decisive and action oriented with claims direction. Resolves claim-specific issues with internal and external customer
