Examples of Work:
Provide supervision, direction, support, etc. for Children and Family Services Workers with intake, Initial Assessment, Ongoing/Permanency, and/or Office of Juvenile Services caseloads working with adolescents and/or children who have been or may be adjudicated as dependent, neglected, abused and/or State wards in the Central Service Area; supervise staff and perform full range of supervisory duties such as hiring, evaluating staff performance, staff development, etc. Work with community in developing relationships and partnerships to enhance protective services for children and families as well as community safety. Community contacts could be with schools, courts, law enforcement personnel, county attorneys, and other available resources.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Human Development, Mental Health Care, Education, Criminal Justice or closely related academic area; experience performing case management activities in counseling, protective services, alcohol/drug abuse, juvenile justice probation and/or social services delivery.
PREFERRED: Masters degree and experience as a supervisor, or assisting a supervisor within a protective services/case management function or program.
OTHER: Travel on a regular basis; valid driver's license, or ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Must have telephone access to be on-call outside normal working hours.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have strong organizational skills.
