 Under the direction of the department chair and the manager of the department, direct and administer student affairs services in the Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies and the Digital Humanities minor. Coordinate, plan develop, implement, modify and evaluate policies and procedures for efficient operation of admissions, academic advising services, scheduling and enrollment, and direct functions relating to undergraduate and graduate student affairs. Work closely with faculty, staff, and all levels of undergraduate and graduate students. Major duties include counseling services, fiscal responsibility for student support funding, managing instructional programs, consulting with faculty, administration, public relations, and orientation.

Required/Preferred

1. Clear understanding of academic mission of the University, and especially Humanities academic departments.

2. Demonstrated familiarity with Humanities academic programs.

Preferred

3. Demonstrated knowledge of university policies and procedures, e.g. admissions, Graduate Division, Registrar, Financial Aid, apprentice personnel policies, SAGE guidelines, etc.

4. Skill in employing fundamental techniques to assist students in establishing academic goals, and aid in the resolution of problems.

5. Ability to correlate fiscal resources with programmatic needs.

6. Ability to perform long and short term planning to execute multiple year financial awards.

7. Skill in arithmetic calculation of TA FTE, grade point averages, weekly course contact hours and course unit totals. Ability to calculate student fees, incorporating fee remissions and other benefits.

8. Ability to use various student related on-line systems, Student Record System (SRS), university web-based systems relating to student affairs, and departmental calendar system.
