    Receptionist

    REPORTS TO: Supervisor
    DEPARTMENT: Professional Learning

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    Special School District (SSD) employs nearly 6,000 people. We are a partner to the 22 districts in St. Louis County, expanding our impact to thousands of school employees in our region. As an SSD receptionist, you will provide the exceptional customer service that embodies our District brand and serve as the welcoming, responsive, and professional ambassador to all stakeholders.     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Welcome inquiries (visitors, telephone, in writing) into work unit, ascertain purpose of visit, furnish information, provide directions, etc. to serve visitors’ needs
    • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with other employees and the public
    • Prepare and process forms and correspondence within framework of established policies and procedures, sometimes involving confidential material
    • Provides various clerical services as specific to receptionist role and location (can include payroll, mileage reports, mail, attendance reports, vouchers, purchase orders, scheduling, etc.)
    • Receives and processes various department records, supplies, etc.
    • Organizes and maintains department files, including confidential files, and maintains confidentiality
    • Assists with monitoring inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment
    • Participates in professional development to gain knowledge and skills
    • Supports processes/activities as directed (specifics will vary based on location)
    • Completes end of day procedures
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education

    • High school education or equivalent required

    Experience

    • Up to one year experience in general office work required
    • Familiarity with all Microsoft and Google applications, database systems, printers, and general office machines (fax, copiers, postage, phones, etc.) required

    Salary Starting at $19.62 to $22.64 based on experience
