The Role
As an Associate Long-term Disability Benefit Specialist, you will be responsible for the fair and timely management of long-term disability claims. You will be responsible for managing disability claims through quality decisions, benefit calculations, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities

Claims Processing
Interact directly with claimants, policyholders, attorneys, physicians and brokers.
Facilitate internal and external customer satisfaction in the resolution of claim-specific issues.
Conduct negotiations! in identifying potential settlements.
Investigate and det! ermine outcome of disability claims with sound and impartial judgment.
Facilitate effective transition of a short-term disability claim to a long-term disability claim.
May act as a resource to our legal department as it relates to compliance, legislative, legal and regulatory issues. Requirements
Education
Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
Experience
1-3+ years of experience in disability insurance that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
Educational experience and/or proficiency in Medical Records, Disability Claims
A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions
