The Farm Credit Services of America Information Technology (IT) Associates Program is designed to prepare employees for a career within our associati! on in the area of information technology. Throughout the program, employees in the IT Associates Program learn to develop and deliver quality software solutions in service to the customers and employees of Farm Credit Services of America.

Associate positions are based at our corporate office in Omaha, NE and will rotate through various Information Technology teams to develop skills until they apply and are chosen for an on-going position with the company.

EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED:
None.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. In collaboration with a project team, develop software features and solutions using Microsoftâ„¢ technologies (C#, SQL Server, Visual Studio, Team System).

2. Complete all aspects of feature development for new and existing systems including: development of code, methods and classes; unit testing; continuous integration; deployment packages; service testing and performance testing. As needed, complete syste! m documentation promoting maintenance and reuse of developed f! eatures. Perform exploratory testing of systems and create automated test scripts to assure the integrity of the solution. Provide on-going production support as needed.

3. Participate in the installation and integration of new systems and versions. Monitor system performance to ensure that efficient operations and results are achieved.

4. Collaborate with a project team to plan releases, reflect and learn from team experience, gain feedback from end users, and train users on new system features.

5. Demonstrate understanding from experience following a learning roadmap : Learn about roles and skills in Information Technology, with specific focus on the skills of software development craftsmanship; Learn about the customers served by Farm Credit Services of America; Learn the roles of our business team members at Farm Credit Services of America who work to bring value to our customers in every interaction; Learn to develop technology solutions to b! ring value to these customers and business team members.

Additional functions of the position may include:
1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree with a minimum of a 3.0 Cumulative GPA. Characteristics of an ideal candidate include: Self motivated, fast learner, customer service oriented, excellent problem solving skills, team player, active communicator, and a great passion for technology.

Duties require:

  • Strong interest in software development professions.
  • Knowledge of object oriented software development techniques.
  • Knowledge of C#, ASP.NET or related
  • Understanding of agile development
  • Understanding of software development practices promoting testable solutions and evolutionary design
  • Decision-making and problem solving ability.!
  • Advanced technology and computer skills.
  • Proficient ! in Windows environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively demonstrate team building attitude and skills.

Farm Credit Services of America employees, customers and vendors.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to understand and explain decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs and/or other work related activities.
  • Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
  • Ability to operate tele! phone and respond to calls and in-person inquiries.
  • Ability to move about the office with occasional reaching and bending.
  • Ability to successfully interact with and represent the organization to staff, officers, board members, customers, and the public at all levels.
  • Ability to use computer and software that is related to carrying out essential responsibilities of position. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with overnight stay included by auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities.
