Customer Credit and Collections Analyst

Assists the Company in the effective management of one of Teledyne Iscoâs largest current assets, its trade accounts receivable. The effective management! includes: maximizing Teledyne Iscoâs receivable Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)/Turnover and managing the level of bad debt losses by establishing appropriate credit limits and payment terms and the institution and implementation of effective procedures to collect past due accounts within an assigned grouping of selected customer accounts. The effort to maximize the receivable DSO/ turnover creates a dilemma of trying to maximize sales while minimizing bad debt losses. In dealing with this dilemma, the Analyst is responsible for working courteously with customers and Teledyne Isco personnel (management and non-management) to creatively and legally resolve problems that would prevent Teledyne Isco from consummating a profitable sale.

Credit Activities
1. Works with the CFS Supervisor in establishing and maintaining effective credit policies and procedures that ensure customers are originally given and then maintain proper credit! limits and payment terms, including communicating these polic! ies and procedures to the appropriate individuals. These policies and procedures should include, as deemed valuable, the reviewing of data from sources such as credit reports, credit references, internal payment history, and sales personnel or other individuals.
2. Effectively uses the policies and procedures in establishing and changing customers credit limits and payment terms and communicating the credit limits and payment arrangements to the customer and other appropriate individuals. Ensures communications with customers, Mfg. Reps/Dealers, and Teledyne Isco personnel related to customersâ accounts by any media is handled in accordance with the Teledyne Isco Principles, that is with courtesy through the use of proper telephone etiquette and courteous verbal and written communications. Variations in credit limits and payment arrangements from standard business practices must be properly documented. Included in this responsibility is ensuring that the customer! credit data is maintained, properly organized, and that confidential information is properly protected from unauthorized disclosure.
Collection Activities
1. Works with the CFS Supervisor in establishing and maintaining effective collection policies and procedures that focus on ensuring the quality of Teledyne Iscoâs trade accounts receivable. These policies and procedures must balance the amount of effort to collect against obtaining the payment on the outstanding A/R amount. The policies and/or procedures are to include determining when a past due account is referred to an outside agency or to Teledyne Iscoâs attorney for collection or determining when the account is not collectable.
2. Maintains the overall A/R aging for the assigned grouping of customers in alignment with the top 75% of the peer group related to DSO/Turnover. This is achieved by effective use of the collection policies and procedures including communicating, as needed, the dec! isions to the customer and other appropriate individuals. Ensures commu! nications with customers, Mfg. Reps/Dealers, and Teledyne Isco personnel related to customersâ accounts by any media is handled in accordance with the Teledyne Isco Principles, that is with courtesy through the use of proper telephone etiquette and courteous verbal and written communications. Included in this responsibility is ensuring that the customer collection information (e.g., spreadsheets, emails, letters, etc.) is maintained, properly organized, and that confidential information is properly protected from unauthorized disclosure.
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience: Associates degree in Business or related discipline with two years experience in a credit related position or four years of related experience in lieu of an Associates degree. CBA or CBF designation from the National Association of Credit Management is preferred.
