Global Trade Compliance Manager in the Global Trade Compliance department

at our corporate office in Sidney, NE.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for leading trade compliance for Cabela’s import, export and Foreign Trade Zone functions. The position provides strategic leadership across the company to ensure compliance with trade laws and takes advantage of provisions in the laws and other mechanisms to reduce duty and tax liabilities. The position develops and implements policies and internal management methods consisting of; procedures, internal controls and training to ensure that employees understand and follow targeted legal principles involving domestic and foreign trade laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Provide trade legal compliance expertise to support the Company's global compliance with laws and regulations governing global trade matters, such as Export Administration, U.S. Customs, FDA, Fish and Wildlife, and BATF

Direct, implement and oversee strategic projects/programs as they relate to trade compliance processes (i.e. Duty Drawback, C-TPAT, Export Compliance Management System, In-House Brokerage Systems, First Sale, etc). Establishes and maintains trade policies, procedures and guidelines that drive compliance with all import/export regulations.

Pro actively work with souring and merchandising on product development and country selection for duty reduction or elimination.

Act as the Primary Liaison for Cabela's with US Customs to include: Regulatory Audits, Port Account Managers, Import Specialists, Customs brokers, International Trade Attorneys and other Governmental agencies.

Performs continuous analysis of trade regulations to ensure the timely provision of guidance to the businesses and implementation of procedural changes that ensure compliance with dynamic trade regulations.

Conducts periodic risk assessments; identifies areas of risk, initiates corresponding corrective action and tracks corrective actions through implementation; maintains metrics on key risk areas.

Develop budget and manage all expense associated with the international US and Canada duty and brokerage expenses.

Vet Cabala's designated Customs Brokers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree

10+ Years experience

US Customs Broker License
